Mexico 2006
During July of 2006, eight members and associates of the Byrne Lab visited and cored a number of lakes in Central Mexico, enjoyed watching World Cup Soccer, were keen observers of the Mexican political process, and visited the historic sites of Mexico City while awaiting permits.

Elkhorn Slough 2005-6
Between October 2005 and August 2006, members of the Byrne lab, in association with collaborators at Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, have removed more than 15 sediment cores from wetlands at Elkhorn Slough, ranging in length from 1 to 6 meters.

The most cored lake in the Sierras.  Also home of the giant water bug.
